Stayed for one night while touring Philadelphia. Location is directly across the street from the convention center and a block or two from Chinatown. All historic city attractions are approximately 8 city blocks away and the museum/art district is the same distance in the opposite direction. Hotel was generally clean. We were placed in a room on the first floor directly behind the service desk and the walls are paper thin, all lobby activity could be clearly heard in our room. We asked if we could get a room change and were told no because the hotel was completely booked. We were sort of annoyed because on our way back in from dinner a guy walked in off the street without a reservation and got 2 rooms, neither of them being on the first floor. I would have demanded a change if we would have been staying longer. Several parking lots close by for about twenty/day. Overall a decent place for the price, would probably stay again if needed just not on the first floor.

The hotel room did not have hot water and the thermostat was not working. When I brought this to the management's attention, I was told that the reason I did not have hot water was because ""everybody is taking a shower in the morning."" I did get a portable heater upon request; however, the hotel management did not apologize even once for the inconvenience. The walls were paper thin and the noise from the back alley could be heard clearly in my room. The ""continental breakfast"" consisted of bagels (one variety) and cereal with milk and juice. Overall, a very negative experience.

Initial reaction negative. A door in the wall entrance, and parking around the corner in a maned lot.But better things were to come! The desk people were very nice and polite--even went out of their way to help us. Breakfast in the AM downstairs was filled with young travelers from around the world--so good and wanting to talk to us.Room rates were great.Close to downtown. Directly behind the convention center- in the next block was Chinatown with food we hadn't counted on for this trip. Rooms clean and small, with good beds, all a person needed. LLS- Mishawaka,Indiana park around the corner

It's not 5-stars but it's a good value for the price...around $*/nite. Rooms are small. The free continental breakfast is fresh and good. Close to Convention Ctr and transportation. Beware of 3 rooms on lobby-level if you are a lite sleeper. You will hear everything going on at the reception desk.

I booked my room through YTB and travelocity but did not stay. We drove past the hotel 3 times before we realized it was there. No sign visable from street. No drive up to unload luggage and family. Parking was one block away in ""secure"" roped off lot (ya sure) Bad area of town. Would have to walk the block from the lot to the hotel dragging 10 bags as there were 4 of us. One being my mother who has a hard time walking. You had to climb stairs into the lobby 9 not good for my mother). We decided it was not the place for us to stay and found other accomadations. I have been fighting with Discover YTB(my travel agent) and the hotel to get my money back since June. So warning to you. If you want to stay in the slums, go for it. I hope you are better than that.
