This is an older hotel, with spacious enough rooms; plenty counterspace in bathroom. Very friendly employees from desk to housekeeping. Free breakfast was good with eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, biscuits & gravy, juices and fruits. The carpeting in our room was in need of shampooing, otherwise kept clean. Transportation into town was only couple blocks from hotel. I would recommend it.

I often travel to Charlotte on business and have stayed at many hotels. Never, have I had an experience like that at the Ramada Airport South. After checking in, I walk about 600 ft to the nearest elevator (which begins going up before the doors have closed all the way) and go up to the top floor where my room is. As I enter the room I notice that it's hot and humid so, after flipping the light switch 4 or 5 times the bulb begins to illuminate the cause of the warm and humid atmosphere; No A/C unit is in the room, only an open 4 X 2 rectangle in the wall 4 stories off the ground. After calling the front desk and asking for a room that has A/C (Charlotte NC in June tends to be hot and muggy) I get moved to the room next door. Finally, A/C that works! But then as I went to take a shower (I'd been sweating for 45 minutes) something else reared its head, rusty water coming out of the tub faucet. Being patient, I let it run awhile until it appears to be clear then turn on the cold side to find that perfect mix of blissful showering pleasure. I step into the tub, close the shower curtain, and lift the little valve that redirects the water up to the shower head. Guess what, the hydro physics in that room are like no other place; only cold water can go up to the shower head. Perfect at the faucet, cold at the shower head. However, I must admit that the breakfast buffet was reasonably priced.

We were more than satisfied with the accommodations. this hotel is a diamond in the rough. The staff was friendly and helpful. We were there due to a family emergency and everyone went out of their way to be helpful and to make sure our stay was as comfortable as possible. Our room was spacious, well decorated and clean. The bed was comfortable. We had a complimentary breakfast included that was more than adequate. I would recommend this hotel to other travelers and would stay there again myself.
