I stayed in Sept 2009 for a friends wedding in coronado. Staff was nice, Valet parking expensive. Rooms were good sized, clean, no fridge, view was great; partial marina with partial city. Breakfast in restaurant was expensive, then we found out seaport village is right behind it. Took a sea/land tour, was really fun. Tons of shops to see. Ate lunch at seaport. When we got back our room was clean, towels changed. After the wedding we went to that ken club on the pool. it was ok, there is a fee. But if you go to the 40th floor there is a bar, very nice, drinks are way better, atmosphere is fun, and no fee to get in. Had a great time, then went back to bed. Room was quiet. would stay again, once prices drop.

This was my first foray into a luxury hotel.... and I have to say I was very disappointed. First, there was absolutely NOTHING complementary in this hotel. I guess I was surprised by this since pretty much every other hotel I have ever stayed at had SOMETHING for free!!! Not this one. There was no fridge in the room. Internet was $ for 12 hours of use. Breakfast was a minimum of $ and that was just for 2 scrambled eggs. A bottle of water added $ to your bill. Valet parking was $ but it was $ to park yourself so we said why not spend 4 more!!! I guess these places are designed specifically for people who don't budget.... I felt extremely out of place since we didn't have a lot of extra cash to spend, we sat in our room most of the night. Second, we were on the 22nd floor, and our room was directly overlooking the pool area. They had a DJ poolside, and the music was so loud it was rattling our windows. Normally I wouldn't care, but we had been on the road all day and I just wanted a quick nap before we went out. Yea that didn't happen. The view of the bay was breathtaking, but nowhere could you go to swim in the ocean. Looking at the marina doesn't do any good if you don't have a boat... We ended up driving across the bay bridge and spending the day in Coronado... was a much more inviting place!! Next trip to Cali we will skip the fancy pants bay hotels and go to the Coronado ones!!

Very noisy. The hotel was very loud, dirty, old, and management was terrible. The rooms are very small too. The hotel opened a new club called Ken Lounge by the pool area next to the rooms. There were hardly any people at this boring lounge but they kept increasing the volume to make it happening. The music played until 2 am but it was so loud that we could not sleep. We were on the 29th floor but could hear the music from the 3rd floor pool area. Our view from the 29th floor was the pool. We called the mgmt but they would not do anything. We heard several drunk guys screaming from the pool. We called mgmt again and they said "We will take care of it", but did not do anything. I WOULD NOT STAY AT THIS HYATT EVER AGAIN. I liked the other Hyatt hotels but this one is AWFUL. I was very disappointed at the way management handled this situation.

I would highly recommend this hotel
08/21/2009The staff was very helpful and friendly. we were within walking distance to a ton of different activities. we had a great time and would stay there again.

Everyone was wonderful and took good care of us. The rooms were large, clean and very accomodating. The hotel is within walking disctance to Seaport Village, USS Midway and Gaslamp district. Will definetely stay tehre again.
