I didnt like that I had to pay for keys. There was paper taped throughout the hall floors. I dont know what that was all about. I felt like anybody could walk in the hotel so I didnt feel very secure. No internet in the room I stayed in. Other than that the room was good. I liked the seperate little kitchen area.

The outside was extremely sketchy but we decided to check in anyway, hoping that our room would be OK. We were wrong. The whole building stinks, the carpet is bubbling up off the floor, and the elevators are very scary. Not only did the elevators have graffiti inside them, they looked like they haven't had routine maintenance since the 70's! We were so appalled and scared to stay there that we checked out less than an hour later and checked into the Hampton located at Broadway at the Beach. That Hampton is extremely nice by the way. Totally worth the extra money. What's worse about Boardwalk Beach Resort is that they didn't care at all why we were checking out (nor did they look surprised) and when Travel online contacted them about giving me a refund, they refused. They have a LOT OF NERVE calling this place a "resort". Please take my advice and stay closer to Broadway at the Beach. Most of the hotels along the ocean front looked just as scary. Oh - their so-called indoor pool is located in a glass room covered by a tin roof. It's hideous.

I took my Mom to Myrtle Beach for her birthday and booked this hotel at least a month in advance. I chose it due to price and location. I read the reviews after the charges had already been paid, and I got really worried. When we got there, I calmed down quickly. There is nothing wrong with this hotel. Yeah, it's a little dirty, but it's an old building and it's full of people that don't care because they are on vacation! Our room was clean, the maids brought us fresh towels, changed the sheets and made the beds. I have no complaints about that. The only issue we had involved the front desk. We asked the person, when we checked in, where we could eat. She gave us detailed directions to a place that we never found. We asked the night attendant where we could get "adult beverages" within walking distance. She informed us that they don't sell such things in Myrtle Beach after 7pm (and it was a Friday!). Needless to say, we found our beverages, with no help from her. When we go on vacation, we go to enjoy the destination, not the hotel. If we wanted something nicer, we would have gone with a 5 star. There is nothing wrong with this hotel, as long as you do not think you are staying at a 5 star spa and are prepared to navigate yourself through the town. Do not ask the front desk for anything!!!

We had a leak in our bathroom ceiling and we asked to be moved unfortunately we were turned down. This was our 3rd year anniversary and the hotel was horrible. Thank goodness there was a bar close by!

I stayed one night in this resort and I will never stay again. The outside of this resort was nasty. Trash laying everywhere. The elevators are slow and at one point got jammed up so we decided to use the stairs. The whole place smells horrible. We got a room with a Jacuzzi tub and it was nasty. We tried cleaning it ourselves then decided it was to nasty to use. The bed had all four corners turned up and was very uncomfortable. I read reviews before booking this resort and I wish I would of listened. I thought staying one night wouldn't be that bad. I was wrong.
