they did not clean the bathroom, change towels, or even the sheets. When we arrived the sheets were stained and they would not bring us clean sheets, we had to go down to the manager to get them ourselves and redo the bedding. The food downstairs is aweful...!!!

There must have been some kinda of deal on this hotel cause we got a great price. But once you get there there is a cost for everything...Parking, Phone Calls, Internet, Safe Usage & they don't have an Ice Machine..BUT you can BUY a bucket of ICE from the Restaurant. Everything thing else was great!! The front desk staff was very knowledgeable and the pool (although quite small) was always clean. Oh, and the location can not be beat, SMACK DAB in the middle of WAIKIKI. Overall, i would go back cause of the staff..but management should do something about all the extra costs.

The hotel was the worst I have ever stayed in waikiki, and I'm really not even that picky. Breakfast was just cofee and some croissant similar from costco (because you only get one from the whole package) or if you add $2 more from your coupon, you can actually indulge yourself to the awful chinese breakfast that they serve, perhaps from the buffet the night before. The staff are sedentary and rudimentary. No knowledge of the city or any kind of planned activities. Swimming pool is COLD, like hypothermic temperature cold... but who needs it if you're in waikiki, right? But if there's one in a hotel, then at least it should be usable. The hotel though, is situated in a good vicinity of nearby ABC stores and Denny's. I would never ever stay with this hotel again or would even try other Castle chain of Hotels...

This is a very old, very dirty, very noisy place to stay. The water pressure is sometimes so bad that you could only get drips out of the shower--and we were only on the 4th floor, I can't imagine how bad it was on higher floors. We found the Aqua Wave a couple of blocks away, which was BEAUTIFUL, clean, huge room --and LESS $$ than the Hokele. Don't waste your time at the Hokele.

If you aren't fussy and need a quick overnight stay close to everything in Waikiki, this is the place. The hotel is in need of an update, and it isn't fancy, but we thought it was a good value for the night. I wouldn't spend a week here, though. The restaurant offers a traditional Asian breakfast, and it seems to be popular with Asian travelers. The staff was friendly, but a bit laid-back.
