I'm on the fence with this location. I was disappointed to find out that the HardRock Theme Park went Bankrupt in Oct. It was my understanding it was just ""closed"" for the season... with that being said I went down with friends to hang in Celebrity Sq and was disappointed to find that it was $20 each way in a cab. We were too far away from things to really walk; the hotel was well aware of my intentions for NYE as I had called several times prior to arrival. A GPS unit and a rental would have been more appropriate. The shuttle service to and from the airport a good bonus. Once we checked in I was horrified to see hair on both bed's pillows... it would be advised to use some kind of hair netting or something... although I don't think the beds were not made or made with used sheets as everything was wrinkle free & starchy I do believe that more attention to details is in order... Kitchen areas well stocked with glasses, dish detergents, pans, whatever you need which I didn't expect so that was good... but be warned, there is one heating zone... so I like it cold, my companions liked it hot, suffice to say I was sick all weekend... The heat was up and my bedroom window was open... Also not too crazy about them accepting pets. Dogs wouldn't stop barking but we were too lazy to complain. We were there for the nightlife. The breakfast they provided was great, the staff friendly --- overall, considering I booked this trip blindly and on a whim without having ever been to Myrtle Beach it could have been much worse.

My family and I were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the Staybridge. The room was adequately sized for my family. The front desk was extremely pleasant and helpful and even let us check in early. She gave us directions to all the places we wanted to visit. The bathroom was very large and everything was immaculate. We didn't have shampoo in our room and when we called down, the shampoo was brought up within 2 minutes. Breakfast was very busy, yet the breakfast host was extremely friendly and kept everything well stocked. It was a nice touch to be able to eat outside by the pool. I can't say enough about this hotel and will be staying there every year on our Myrtle Beach vacation!

I have stayed here 4 times and every time I feel so comfortable - truly a home away from home. The front desk staff is great, the amenities are great and the room layout is perfect. The kitchens are equipped with everything you could need for a quick meal in, and if you get desperate you can always grab a frozen dinner in their snack bar area! The free breakfast is awesome - the best of all the hotel chains by far.

This hotel is unbelievable and provides all the comforts of home. The staff is superior and will get you what you need even if it's not offered. The sundown reception has "real" food and the rooms are incredibly spacious. Everythiing from dinnerware, wine glasses, utensils, toaster, dish detergent, cutting board, water pitcher is provided in the kitchen. The two bedroom suite was perfect for our two boys, each having their own bed. The DVD player in the living area was a dream. The windows actualy partially open to allow fresh air. the hotel is located within a 3 mile radius of everything - the beach, Broadway on the Beach, Hard Rock Cafe, Hard Rock Park, the famous Gene Ho Photography studio headquarters, Myrtle Waves Water Park, Golden Corral, Walmart, Coastal Mall and EVERYTHING. The hotel even has a pavilion with great grills for guests. They also have a private basketball court. It is truly an undiscovered jewel. the only change I would make is that the pool closes at 10pm - SHARP. We will definitely stay here everytime we go to Myrtle Beach!!

This is a very average hotel in a lousy location. I really do not understand all the rave reviews. The area was once a huge outlet mall, but EVERYTHING is now closed. It is like a ghost town. This will be the closest hotel to the new Hard Rock Theme park when it opens.
I think our room was in the Pet Friendly area even tho we did not have a pet. The room showed some wear--nothing too bad. The kitchen was nicely equipped and we liked the two bedroom set up. But when we had to kill a huge roach-like bug on the floor our last night there--my opinion of the place plummeted. Even if this was an abberation--I could never rate this hotel above average.
